Lite rolig film från Eskimås kanotpoloträning, gillar filmningen med gopro kameran :) Hade varit roligt att se dem börja tävla i Sverige så vi blir fler klubbar!
Duncans egna ord om Sverigelägret 2011
Här kommer Duncans sammanfattning av Sverigelägret 2011, roligt med feedback från en som har många års erfarenhet av kanotpolo både på och av vattnet.
"In Early August this year I had the privilege of being the Guest Coach at “The Swedish Camp” for 2011. This is a training camp organised by the Swedish Canoe Federation together with the local club Luleå kanotpoloförening Isbrytarna. The camp is mainly for Canoe Polo players from Sweden and other Scandinavian countries. Now in its 5th year, the camp caters for all skill levels from junior and less experienced players right through to senior national team members and is run over 4 days each year in Lulea in northern Sweden .
Of added interest to the structure of the camp is that Eva Lindmark has deliberately targeted a different coach from a different country for the camp each year allowing the Swedish players to experience a wide range of skills, tactics, playing and coaching styles from around the world. The players and coaches have then been able to use those skills, tactics and playing styles that most suit “the Swedish way”. This idea and the structure of the camp is surely the perfect model for developing polo in newer countries and Sweden ’s rapid improvement in their results in International competitions is great testament to the success of this.
This year the camp involved almost 50 individuals from Sweden , Norway , Denmark and Holland and began with a tournament as part of the Lulea Music Festival. This not only gave me a great insight into the skill level of the players and teams and the tactics they were using, but also a great introduction to some Swedish culture. And the spectacular harbour venue with thousands of passing public was a fantastic promotion for the sport.
Over the following 4 days, the coaching sessions covered all areas of the game including ball skills, kayak control, offence and defence, planning your season, developing training plans, kayak design construction and repair, as well as plenty of on water and off water drills, discussions, scenarios and game play. All the participants were divided into 3 groups according to their skill and experience (lower level, intermediate and advanced) and each session was run to suit the level of the group involved. Even the national level players were introduced to some new skills and drills which certainly tested and challenged their skills in real game scenarios.
Of special interest this year was the introduction of the shot clock and its impact on the game at the higher level with many discussions on suitable tactics to try. There was also a lengthy discussion on rules and refereeing based around the new online ICF Referee’s course which can now be found on the ICF website.
The plan of the camp and its structure will now be used as an example by the ICF Polo Committee to help developing Canoe Polo Nations grow in the sport. The ICF Canoe Polo committee is developing a list of coaches to assist these countries- all of who have a great level of skill and experience in developing individuals and teams at all levels.
Overall the camp was a huge success and I can highly recommend its structure and format as a valuable tool in helping polo develop in your country."
Kommer bli intressant att se vad det blir av Sverigelägret 2012, kanske kommer det fler internationella och nationella spelare, två pitcher och framför allt vem som blir headcoach? Vad hade du velat se eller lära dig under Sverigelägret?

Jag hade gärna sett att om det är lika högt tryck som det var iår på antalet spelare som var med på campen att vi skulle spela på två pitcher och då även ha två coacher.
Det hade även varit roligt att ta dit en hastighetskamera och utse årets hårdaste skytt och ge ut en t-shirt till de två (Dam och Herr) som vinner.
Som headcoach hade jag gärna sett antingen Tysklands Herr coach, Frankrikes Herr coach eller Englands Dam coach
Tror även att det går att jobba en hel del på avslutningsturneringen och man kan väll hoppas att vädret blir bättre till 2012.
